Ways to Get a Flat Belly for Summer and Bikini Season

Summer season is almost here and we all want to gear up for the beach body and greet the season with a body built for our teeniest bikini. So how to get rid of the unsightly flab before it hangs over our bikini bottom this summer?

Here are some tips and tricks that can help you prevent distressing, uncomfortable belly flat!

  • Drink plenty of water

If you want to lose on that stubborn belly fat, it is very important to keep the body well-hydrated. Drinking plenty of water increases metabolism, digestion and cleanse your system of toxins. Additionally, the liver works better and burns fat efficiently if you keep your body hydrated.

So, drink enough water for the entire day for a flat belly and a healthy body. According to research, drinking 2 cups of water before you eat can help you consume fewer calories when you dig in.

  • Cardio is the key

The best way to slim down in the middle is cardio exercise. Make more time for cardio as it is the most effective in reducing belly fat. Aerobic exercises burn more calories than resistance training or combination.

HIIT (High intensity interval training) or, very low-intensity cardio like walking, or ideally, a mix of both can show fast effects. Some good examples of exercise are walking, swimming, jogging, aerobics, bicycling and the likes.

  • Target big muscles

Targeted weight loss or spot reduction is not possible. So, if you want to get rid of excess fat from your belly, you will need to lose overall body fat. Target the stubborn muscles like legs, chest, and back. This will help the stomach muscles in maintaining the balance and this will help trim your belly down.

  • Say no to carbonated drinks

Stick with flat water over any kind of carbonated and sweetened drinks. Try having more of green tea, natural smoothies or detox drinks. Carbonated drinks store gas in the stomach and cause the stomach to swell and bloat. Add lemon, ginger, and cucumber to the variety of drinks to make it more tasty and healthy.

  • Make friends with fiber

Include a lot of fibers in your diet for a healthy stomach functioning and digestion. The good digestive system is linked with fat loss and weight loss.

Eat lots of fresh vegetables and fruits for a healthy body and flat belly. Add some dressings on the salad. Little fat in the dressings help in absorbing the veggie nutrients and you will feel fuller.

  • Say no to dairy products, refined grains, and sugar

Sugar is a form of carbohydrate with no nutrition and empty calories. When you eat sugar, your body retains glycogen and fluid which causes bloating. Prefer whole grains over refined grains and avoid dairy products as much as possible.

  • Get your daily sleep

Too little sleep can cause more cravings for high carb foods. And the more tired you feel the stronger are the cravings as your body needs energy. Cut these cravings by having a good sleep of at least 7 hours at a stretch.

Why Physical Appearance Matters

Looks matter…

More importance is now given to the way we look, more than anything else. We live in a world today where not only your looks matter, so does your physical appearance.

Appearances matter in real life and anyone, who tells you otherwise does not live in the real world. You are judged by the physical signals you send with your appearance.

While looking presentable does not mean following the latest fashion or makeup trends, it does mean that our basic appearance should be well-taken care of. Here’s what people look at when they see you for the first time:

  1. Your Face
  2. Your Clothes
  3. Your Shoes
  4. Your Hair

Before people get a chance to know you or to decide on whether they love or hate your personality, they are already judging you based on your physical appearance. With the birth of social media, you are not only judged by the people you meet, but you are also judged by random strangers online.

While you can buy clothes, shoes and get a good hairstyle, you cannot buy good skin. You either have good skin or you don’t. Unfortunately, most people around the world do not have the luxury of having clear and spotless skin. But, somehow when you step out with a visible skin condition, you are received with harsh looks, especially if you are an adult with acne.

If you have a visible skin issue on your face, it is like going through a neverending battle with your skin. Due to people’s perception of you, you are ready to go through anything to treat your skin issue. This explains why many people with visible skin issues spent a lot of money treating their skin.

In 2018, it was reported that Americans spent nearly $17 billion on skin treatments to make their skin look great. Some of these treatments were for the purpose of removing blemishes, combat wrinkles, moisturize, regenerate, tighten and beautify the skin.

With the rising scrutiny on our physical appearance, there is an even higher pressure to look good compared to 10 years ago. We are all becoming more body conscious than ever!

As a result of this, it is hard for anyone with a visible skin issue to live in the current society where you are not only judged, but also scrutinized based on your skin problem.

This is exactly why Evanesce New York has a Facebook Group to help all those, who are suffering from any skin issue, come together and support each other through this constant skin battle. It is not an easy world out there, which is why we can all do with the support from others going through the same thing.

Easy Ways to Prevent Cold and Flu This Season

This is the season when you can catch a cold and flu easily. The weather is turning cooler and all you need to do is take some safety precautions in order to prevent cold and flu.

When you are down with the flu, make sure that your body receives lots of fluids. Also, take extra care of yourself, making sure that you eat healthily and drink clean water.

While it is impossible to completely prevent yourself from getting infected with cold and flu, here are a few pointers which would help you out:

  • Sleep

If you feel weak or feel that you have a weak throat, then just go to sleep. While you are asleep, your body’s defence mechanism will kick in to fight the foreign bacteria and germs. Also, when you are tired, your body won’t work 100% efficiently. So, you are bound to fall ill. Hence, make sure that you get 8-10 hours of sleep if you are feeling under the weather.

  • Eat healthily

Eating healthy is the best way to boost your immune system. When you eat a balanced diet, your body gets all the necessary nutrients and proteins.  It not only gives your body that extra energy but also helps the immune system by making it stronger. So make sure that you eat fresh fruits and vegetables regularly to keep cold and flu at bay.

  • Exercise

Exercising is a great way to boost your immune system. Also, it helps the body sweat. Sweating causes your body to get rid of germs and bacteria and also replenishes the cells inside your body.

  • Keep your hands clean

Washing your hands very often is a single important measure if you want to stop the transmission of colds. Did you just shake your hands with your colleagues? Or, did you just touch your nose? Simply, wash your hands, and wash them quite often.

No matter if you went on shopping, returned from a gym or spent time in public places. Every time you come back to your home – make it a point to wash your hands.

This is because when you wash your hands, you are basically destroying the harmful bacteria and germs which you might have acquired by touching stuff here and there.

Also, if you can’t wash your hands, then keep a hand sanitizer ready. This alcohol solution makes sure that your hands are clean and germ-free. So you don’t have to go to the washroom every time to wash your hands.

  • Clean surroundings

It is extremely necessary for you to keep your surroundings clean. Cleaner atmosphere means that there are fewer germs and bacteria around.

Keyboards, light switches, doorknobs, countertops, remote controls and the likes can serve as a breeding ground for viruses. Thus, make sure that these commonly used surfaces are cleaned frequently.

  • Drink fluids

Stay hydrated at all times. Drink a huge amount of water to flush out any harmful toxins and microbes from your body.

Further, drinking enough amount of water would also keep your mucus well-hydrated and would keep your nasal passages clean.

It is highly recommended to drink hot water every few hours, or alternatively, add honey and lemon juice in a glass of water to strengthen your immune system.

Adopt the above-mentioned measures and stay healthy!

8 Ways to Get Rid Of Puffy Eyes Naturally

Puffy eyes can be a result of aging and can make you appear older than you may be. You may also find puffy eyes when you wake up in the morning. Here are some of the natural ways to get rid of them.

  1. Use of ice cubes

One of the natural ways to eliminate the eye bags from under your eyes is to keep the ice cubes over them for 5 minutes or so. It is the easiest way to deal with them.

The coldness of ice stirs the circulation under the eyes and helps in reducing the puffiness naturally. Don’t leave the ice under the eyes for too long as it can cause the skin to rash and wither due to coldness.

  1. Focused diet and no to caffeine

This could be a little out of the league for coffee lovers and those with an unbalanced diet. One of the possible causes for puffiness or dark circles under the eyes is found to be dehydration. For this very reason, consuming the types of drinks matter to keep your skin healthy.

Replacing coffee with more of freshwater will make a difference you will yourself notice and feel. Water helps the body to keep the body toxins in flux.

Also, intake of more of fruits and vegetables rather than fast foods will be beneficial in the long run.

  1. Cool cucumber

Keep a thin slice of cucumber above the closed eyes for 10 to 15 minutes. This will gradually reduce the puffiness from the eyes.

  1. Used teabag

Take a used tea bag and wrap it around a tissue paper and let it cool. Once cold apply to your puffy eyes. The natural astringent provides freshness and keeps the eyes taut.

  1. Cold spoon

Take a normal sized spoon and keep it in the refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes to make it chilled. Gently apply the cold spoon over the eye bags till it is warm again. Repeat the procedure for the other eye.

  1. Sliced potato

Similar to the cucumber, you can also place a thin slice of potato (properly rinsed) over your closed eyes to get rid of tired and puffy eyes.

  1. Use rose water

Take cotton balls dipped in rose water and apply to the affected area to get rid of puffiness around your eyes. Simplest! Isn’t?

  1. Herb salad dressing

Take finely grated parsley and mix it with sour cream. Place the resulting mixture in a cheese cloth. Now apply it over the puffy eyes for a period of about 15 to 20 minutes.

Try these natural treatments to get rid of puffy eyes 2 to 3 times a week. You will see signs of visible improvements in a week or so.

Before even following these quick ways to reduce puffy eyes, ensure that you are getting proper sleep. Also, drink a glass of water one hour before going to sleep to keep your eyes hydrated during the sleep.
