Long eyelashes are every girl’s dream but you have to be very lucky to have them naturally. Thanks to the eternity for the presence of false eyelashes!
False eyelashes not only make your eyes look heavenly but also add to your beauty. However, you need to take proper care of them to make them last for more than two months. Yes, they don’t usually last for long even after being so expensive.
Here are some of the tips through which you can extend the life of your false eyelashes.
- Know the lifespan of your fake eyelashes
Before talking about care, it’s important to know the average lifespan of your fake eyelashes. Like typically for everything, more the cost, better is the quality and life. The same rule applies to false eyelashes as well. A mediocre quality eyelash will grant you 1 to 2 wears while a little expensive one can last for a few more. The synthetic eyelashes last for about 5 to 8 wears whereas eyelashes made from animal hair can last about 20 to 30 lashes subject to how you take care of them.
- Removing the old glue
Too much glue on lashes not only makes them look unnatural but also makes it difficult to remove them. This can also make you tear the eyelashes while taking them off. So make sure that you don’t put excessive glue on them. Additionally, first clean the old glue gently with the help of tweezers before wearing them.
- Avoid excessive mascara or eyeliners
Avoiding mascara and eyeliner over false eyelashes may be asking for too much. But yeah you should definitely try to use them minimally. Excessive use can make your lashes too heavy while also decreasing their life span. You should be careful while applying eyeliner or mascara, thus making sure you don’t end up dirtying your lashes with makeup. You can use tweezers or lash applicators for better results.
- Cleaning the lashes
Cleaning them is the hardest part. However, this has to be done. Firstly you should remove the glue from the lash band and then soak it in warm water for about 30 seconds. Thereafter, clean the eyelashes with a makeup remover by either soaking them in it or by gently cleaning them with a Q-tip soaked in makeup remover.
- Storing them
Brush the tangled and crisscrossed lashes before storing them in the container you usually do. Also, if you want to remember how many wears they actually lasted, write down the number of wears over the box every time you put them away. This will help you know if you should continue with the same lashes next time or if it is the time to buy a new pair.
