This layer is filled with keratin which is responsible for providing defence against outside environment and also help the body skin in retaining moisture. To help keratin retain moisture, a thin oil layer is produced by our body. That’s the biology.
What happens to our skin when we take long showers?
- The oil layer is washed off when we take showers. Excessive showering completely washes off this oil thus disallowing keratin retain moisture. So, your skin looks dry and signs of aging like wrinkles can be seen.
- Although tub time might feel very luxurious, spending more time in a bath tub taking showers can harm your skin by completing making it dry and pale. There is no natural bounce in the skin and we tend to develop folded skin.
